The head of state made a trip to address defense personnel in the Pokrovsk area on Tuesday. The president confirmed that he consulted fighters at the command post of the 1st Corps of the Ukrainian National Guard Azov, which is leading defense efforts in the Dobropillya sector, a town approximately 20km from Pokrovsk.

Volatile Conditions in the Area

Geospatial data from a national effort indicated that opposition armies had made gains into Pokrovsk and its environs, though a large portion was not fully held by both forces. The conditions are severe, with accounts indicating that opposition troops were fortifying positions and building up positions in certain areas.

Opposition armies are making progress in the Pokrovsk sector and are reportedly acting with growing ease within the city proper.

Analysts noted that national troops had liberated a significant portion of a opposition incursion in the Dobropillya front, on the eastern edge of the Pokrovsk operation.

National Drone Strikes Inside Russian Territory

National unmanned aircraft struck a factory approximately over 800 miles inside Russia at Sterlitamak. Local officials announced a detonation at the Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant that led to the partial collapse to be compromised, adding that the cause of the explosion was unconfirmed. The Ukrainian military general staff stated there was significant destruction to the facility.

Ukraine's military confirmed attacking a fuel processing plant at the location in Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region to the east of the capital. The level of destruction was under evaluation. The Russian regional governor acknowledged a strike by 20 drones near Kstovo.

Kremlin Military Strategic Shifts

Russian military reservists will now have to guard oil refineries against Ukrainian drone strikes after Vladimir Putin approved legislation on the weekday increasing their involvement in the military campaign. The head of state also approved legislation allowing military conscription continuously whereas before it happened only during restricted intervals in autumn and spring. The federation restricts draftees from being sent to battle, but after their defense commitment they become part of the backup units, putting them at risk of being assigned to combat zones.

Heavy military spending have also started to strain the Russian state budget, with Moscow raising taxes to plug a rising deficit.

Zelenskyy's Appeals for Global Assistance

Zelenskyy called on America to continue considering to supplying Kyiv with long-range weapons. Speaking at an EU meeting from the Pokrovsk area, the Ukrainian president also requested more international restrictions on the federation – including on Russia's gas and nuclear sectors – and said he desired European Union membership by the end of the 2020s.

Foreign Aid and Diplomatic Developments

Germany plans to increase defense support to the eastern European country by three billion euros next year to about 11.5 billion euros, the economic authority in the German government said on the weekday. This comprises, among other things, cannons, unmanned aircraft, armoured vehicles and the exchange of missile defense equipment.

Nordic ammunition manufacturer the company has signed a letter of intent with a national production company to produce, develop and sell ammunition in the country.

Italy summoned Russia's deputy ambassador on the weekday to object to what it said were crude, concerning and unacceptable remarks by federation official who associated the tragic event of a building in the capital to Italy's military support for the conflict zone. The Italian foreign minister stated that Italy will not alter its diplomatic approach or its principles in response to irresponsible comments. The federation's diplomatic mission later posted condolences for the passing of a Romanian worker in the collapse but seized the moment to protest that the angry response to the comments was biased against Russia.
